Can l leave a ‘group play’ table, then pause play or rejoin a short time later?

Are you talking about a Group Challenge? You can leave these and come back any time within 3 days of the challenge being issued.

If you're talking about an ordinary table in the Main Bridge Club or Casual Bridge Club, if you leave someone else will most likely take your place, unless the table host prohibits it.
