Group match.
Holding the most spectacular trump support of all time, and NINE tricks single handed, GIB decided partner probably had trouble counting, thus it's better idea to stay out of trouble.

I'm more intrigued by your choice to bid 1♠ instead of 1♦. I've long since quit on the robot bidding being justifiable.

8-3-1-1 hands are deceptively weak. A lot of things can go wrong. I prefer to have 9 card support before competing in an auction like this.
