With the flash interface it was possible to create a convention card bid by bid, so that bid descriptions would appear automatically ala GIB.

It seems the web interface only supports ACBL convention cards. PITA, since my partner play precision and we have to keep self-alerting. Is it possible to still import the old format card using the web interface? How? If not, why not? I really hate "upgrades" that sacrifice functionality. Thanks.

Have you considered publishing a web API so that people could build a custom UI for BBO? Or maybe put your client-side code in the public domain so that people could customize it?

BBOalert meets perfectly what you are looking for. BBOalert uses its own data format, but supports old BSS files in read-only mode.

I've getting up to speed with BBOalert for several days now, and it's been working very nicely for me.

Haven't tried it, but it's a great idea. It wouldn't have occurred to me that this was even possible.

I just wish people would post a convention card. I have played in a couple of the EBU tournaments, and none of our opponents has a convention card.
