With regret this tournament still has to be postponed. The reason is an accident on Januari 24th,
which brought down various telephone lines (internet) in our area.
We are depending on Orange France to get this extreme damage repaired.
Untill today we have no indication when repairs will be completed.
In the mean time...the boards will get hotter and hotter!
Madness fans and friends I thought you deserved an explanation!

I wonder if Orange France realises the severe international consequences of its inaction.
I have taken to secretly dealing goulash style during club tournaments, but it's not the same thing B-)

I have a theory that nobody else believes. When playing at the club, and I get a hand from a deck that is clearly from a shiny new deck of cards, I often get a 'Goulash Hand'. My theory is that the new deck has not been shuffled properly before being put into the machine for 'random dealing'. Since I don't know how dealing machines work this could be rubbish, but it has happened more than once. Any thoughts from our panel?

That turns out to be rubbish. A separate program is used to generate the deal and create a file with the information for all hands in a set. The dealing machine reads this file and sorts the cards to match it - it doesn't determine the hands. Typically a third program is used to create the hand records that you pick up at the end of a session.

The "Madness" tourney is one of the most popular events here on BBO.. Until it returns(which I hope will be
sooner rather than later),a huge hole exists in the evening schedule on the site,Posted Image

My loyalty to Goulash Madness is undying, but in the meantime I see that there is "Ind. Extreme Goulash in The Rockies" in a few minutes, will give it a try :)
