Why was [name removed] disqualified from winning Day 1 with a 76%?

I don't expect that BBO will make a public statement

Multiple players were disqualified

It will be interesting to see how long this thread survives

I wish that the boards in question were made public

I also would like there to be a little more transparency within limits. I realized this week that a thread I started a couple months ago, without naming any names, just a questionable board in robot play, was removed from the forum. At the same time I applaud any efforts made to disqualify results obtained crookedly.

I remember looking through all of his results before the disqualification. Many boards were results of the form (P) - P - (P) - 1m - (P) - 1M - (P) - 3NT where he would open his short minor and rebid 3NT (ostensibly showing a solid 7 card suit) with any minimum. The robots would grossly misdefend and allow him to make silly 3NT contracts because of the freakish nature of the 3NT rebid. I found it very clever and low-risk, but hardly grounds for disqualification. If the robots are too silly to defend against these shenanigans, then power to whoever makes it a priority to take advantage of their weakness.

We cannot disclose details. We'll close this thread, because it will likely encourage speculation. But it was not related to gaming the bots.

Like mentioned earlier and in a few other places, psyching is allowed in robot events. The robot won't "remember" what you did one board ago.
