I was wondering what this sequence mean in a 2/1 context. Uncontested auction.
1♠-2♣
2♦-3♣
4♦ ? does it show solid ♦ ? or is it 6-6 weak? or is it splinter in support of ♣?
2♣ was GF

Can't be splinter since you already bid 2 diamonds naturally. Would depend on partnership understanding but I expect many would play it as RKCB for clubs.

Would 3♦ on the previous round have been a splinter? In that case, this is the way to show a very good hand with at least 5-5, probably more.
Otherwise I find it puzzling. RBCK for clubs is a possibility but that would have to be agreed, of course.

The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket
