3NT hand from a challenge std robots
partner doubled for a club lead
but you dont need club stoppers to bid 3NT
a club lead puts 3N -2
If Gib's diamond suit was better than partners perhaps Gib should have bid ?! <sarcasm>

While I wouldn't play again with a human partner who didn't lead a club (maybe a little harsh?), compliments to GIB for at least leading a diamond instead of a heart or spade. Baby steps :)

I would give a human partner some leeway. It's not like a non-club lead on some other hand might be the only was to beat 3N. It happens.

But Gib has lots of opportunities and almost never leads your suit like there is a bug preventing it.
I suppose I should be somewhat thankful. Once Gib led my suit I almost had a heart-attack!

If partner had QJ109xx and 2 likely outside entries, then a diamond lead would have real merit. Without a 4th round diamond spot and no likely entry except in clubs, I think a diamond lead is GIB awful (even if you can construct a hand where a diamond lead is necessary)

agreed like I said on some other hand lol

not leading club on this and other similar hands makes me think it's a bug or at least is not considering bidding by partner

Sometimes (usually) I wonder if the GIB simulations take into account suit quality. Leading from Qx opposite a random 5+ card suit isn't nearly as good compared to partner having a very good suit which the double of 2 suggests.

Yeah, this is awful. I mean, RHO is doubling 2C almost entirely for a club lead! And then you march right into 3NT... and live to tell your story, making 5 for a top, I'd hope!
