Today I tried to give a negative vote to a post I really did not appreciate and got a message "Exceeds your quota of negative votes for the day" or something similar. As I don't recall giving a negative vote before, I assume my quota is zero. Is this correct? How is the quota assigned?
Luckily there is rarely a reason to give a negative vote here, just curious.

I'm sure BBO stopped negative votes many years ago. If something doesn't look right on here, I'm sure most of us ignore it, or preferably reply politely stating why the comment is wrong/looks wrong.

I'm the first to admit that I don't get everything right on here, but have spent over 40 years trying to get things right generally in this game. I always have my head in a bridge magazine/book on a daily basis. It's just a shame that I can no longer play due to illness.

Thanks, agree it is no real problem here. I was just curious as the system offers me a negative vote but it didn't actually work. Perhaps BBO could turn off the option if they don't want it?

Setting the limit to 0 is the way to turn it off. I guess it could be considered a bug in the software that the button is shown even though it can't be used. Not much we can do about that.

Ok, no real problem. Thanks.
