Certainly seems insane to me. The surprising thing is that it should only go one off (and there are five opening leads, albeit unlikely bordering incompetent, that allow it to make). But that would be "resulting" in terms of the headline comment.

Thereafter it seems to be alternating between going one down and two down as West alternately misplays the hand while North misdefends. There seems to be more to criticise than the bidding alone.

not sure about what happens as I am rather new to bridge but I felt like someone put me in the cast of "I Robot"
