This world could use some things to cheer about. I wish these kids the very best in their recovery. It sounds like they are doing it.

We wish them well as long as they stay on their side of the fence. :(

I see they all have tickets waiting for them for the World Cup final if they are recovered enough to make it.

I would tune in just to see that coverage.

Glad to hear that this turned out mostly well (except for the diver who died a few days ago).

I'm taking wagers now on how soon this becomes a movie. "The Wild Boars" is a great title.

They've already had producers there on the scene before the last of them had been rescued.

I heard that the doctors want to keep them in hospital for at least a week, so they're not going to be able to take advantage of this.

Maybe they'll get a trip to Qatar.

The trip to see the World Cup made sense to me but on balance I am glad the docs are keeping them around, and really I hope that the parents shield them from a lot that might be coming their way. This was serious trauma, however well they might appear to have coped. Not that anyone asked but I hope the parents tell anyone who wants to make a movie or any such thing to come back in six months. Kids need adventure, but this was more than they bargained for and they need some time. They need to get back to the more mundane life. They need to be kids in the neighborhood like all the other kids in the neighborhood. My best wishes to them.

From what I've heard, much of the credit for how well they endured this is due to the assistant coach who was trapped with them. He's a former Buddhist monk, and he taught the kids to meditate while they were trapped. He also didn't eat, letting the children have his share of the food they brought with them. Meanwhile, he's incredibly humble and apologized for getting them into the situation in the first place.
