My hand
OK this is a prime example.
I opened 1.
I certainly would agree if Gib has something better to do lead as hand indicates. But Gib couldn't even scrape up a response.
Leading anything but a spade isn't bridge!
Cost a trick which didn't matter as imps, but what if that was the setting trick?

All 13 cards lead to the same result of 2C=?

Sure on perfect defense it doesn't matter.
On spade lead is easy.
I am trying to beat contract (or just not perfect) and blow a trick.
A spade lead obviously is the best chance to defeat the contract or take most tricks if at matchpoints.

I think it is pretty reasonable to not lead a spade with a takeout double of spades on his left. Often it will have spade shortness, and usually not a protected king of spades.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

East is making a balancing double so is less likely to have classic takeout double shape. West might have bid 1NT with a solid spade stopper. I'm not going to bother running a simulation but it seems to me that GIB's modelling is frequently off the rails.
