I have experienced occasions when some ignorant/arrogant players have left the table mid-play (last night mid-play whilst declarer).

When I look at my own profile I see a 'Board Completion Rate' as a percentage statistic. Why don't I see that when I look at the profile of others? Why is there no sanction for this type of behaviour?

If someone invites you I believe you see their rate.

I am not sure what you mean by 'invites' but I can see that if I am sat at a table with other players I can not see their board completion rate.

if they invite you to join a table or be a partner in a tournament at that point you can see.

Q. Why would BBO implement a feature that calculates the Board Completion Rates?
A. So that others can see it and make a choice as the whether they are prepared to play with someone who has a low percentage of completing games.

But - I can only see it if that person invites me to play in a tournament - WHY?

A. To set limits of loyal behaviour for entry to free automated tournaments.

For general privacy reasons. You can only see someone's statistics when it becomes relevant to you.

It's also used for automatic blocking. If you create a tourney and set the minimum TCR, players with lower rates are automatically excluded.

I don't intentionally quit during a game, but my BCR is going down - presumably because everytime BBO drops my connection mid-game it blames me for it. Thanks BBO - a double whammy.

Don't think of it as "blaming you". It's just keeping track of statistics. Regardless of the reason, you're likely to get disconnected, so someone who wants stable players at their table shouldn't let you in.

How long will it take my BCR to rise? My TCR is 100 percent, but I didn't notice my BCR dropping until recently. It's at 97 percent now.

Thanks!

It's 100% now.

You dropped out once 31 days ago. We calculate the percentage based on the trailing 30 days, so that counted against you until today.

The reason your BCR dropped is because you finished 9 boards on May 17. When that fell out of the 30 day window, your total number of boards dropped (because you haven't played any new hands since June 7). So you changed from finishing 42 boards out of 43 (98%) to 33 out of 34 (97%).

This reminds me of Groucho Marks' attitude - "I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have someone like me as a member".

My board completion rate has gone down, I think it might be because I have started having weekly teaching sessions on BBO and sometimes for various reasons the teacher changes the hands dealt so it appears we haven't finished the hand. Could the software separate out teaching hands so that it doesn't affect an individual's completion rate?

I'm pretty sure BCR doesn't count teaching tables, only regular tables/
