A common but impossible to show hand type can't reliably look for a major fit?

Over 3C, I moused over my options. Double (my choice in the end) was penalty. 3x would show a strong rebiddable suit, and 4C would show clubs. So it seems there is no way to find a 4-4 major suit fit, which seems quite likely in this auction without risking playing in a 4-3 or even 4-2 fit.

The options are unhelpful, but I wonder if X is penalty on this auction as your robot partner has opened the suit? Swap the and around on both the East and South hands, and East now overcalls 3 over 1. Would X be still penalty, or the eminently more sensible takeout double showing the majors? Maybe someone who plays against the bots regularly will shed light on this possible auction.

1C-(3D)-X is a negative double, not sure of its exact description but fairly sure it mentions something about 4+S.

As for my double on the actual hand, it says "biddable " in the description, so very much implying penalty.

Surely it can't be double for penalty and 4 nat.

Yep, seems like this is a big problem. When (basic) GIB is south in this situation.. it passes.
I have nothing worth contributing, bye

I just did a quick test myself. The advanced bots also pass....

Double is penalty here and not negative as in Bergen's Neg X book ?!! Who taught these BOTs to bid?

Double should certainly be negative. This should be easy to fix right BBO?
