With bidding like

1H 1S
2D 2S (question..how many spades do I need for the rebidding, 5 or 6)

Normally you want 6. Otherwise with weak hands you are normally taking a preference to hearts or passing 2d.

I suppose with a nightmare 5=1=2=5 hand I might try 2s with a good suit with good spot cards.
