. There is probably some young whizz reading this forum who would be willing to design a nice website for a cheap price/free, or you could hire someone relatively cheaply. I think it would be worthwhile, and if they design it well it should be easy to maintain/update.

Is functional, but no more. It is very bland and this might be imposing to someone looking to get into online bridge who has no prior knowledge of the sites. Most of BBOs competitors have better sites . There is probably some young whizz reading this forum who would be willing to design a nice website for a cheap price/free, or you could hire someone relatively cheaply. I think it would be worthwhile, and if they design it well it should be easy to maintain/update.

I prefer a good bridge bplaying environment to a fancy website.
Do you talk about:
www.bridgebase.com or
online.bridgebase.com ?
I have enough of those sites that waste my time and bandwidth with a flash intro or load lots of little square graphics force a specific design.
I don't want those sites, that have javascipt based menu, navigation or popup features, because they usually only work with one type of browser and are unusable with others. I don't like those sites that resize my browserwindow or use only a tiny part of the screen because it was "optimized" for e.g. 800x600 resolution.
I don't like those sites where you navigate inside a flash environment or that are misconstructed with frames, so that a bookmark will always put you in the wrong spot.
A website should have a clear structure and be functional.

Totally agree !
The site is very functional as it is now (specially since the vugraph schedule page has been reviewed to show local time !) and I'm very happy with it
