I have a bare minimum opener (some would say a non-opener) and scraped together a responsive double since I hold both majors.

Now I'm supposed to find a 3RD call with this piece of trash?

I think pard with the known triple fit can find a call over 3♦, 8 count or not.

MY doulbe of 2♦ shows 4-4 in the majors, maybe there is the difference.

If partner knows about a double 8 card fit, he knows we belong to the 3 level.
