Here is a hand that cropped up in JillyBeans Kiwi Capers

It illustrates some very nice declarer play by Dwingo and also the dangers of tight doubles...



Playing 2/1 in a pickup partnership, you and partner produce the following auction

1♦ - 2♣
2♥ - 2N
3NT

The opening leader doubles and then charitably leads a low Diamond...

Under reasonable circumstances, I win the diamond in my hand (if I can), club to ace, 9, let it ride in to surely an honor from the leader, let him decide what suit to open up next.

Simple as that.
