I had to play this for two tricks!

In the actual play, i played 4 to the jack (won by Q) and 3 back to the 7 (won by A). a 3-3 split gave me 2 tricks... but I have this feeling that I didn't deserve the two tricks :-)
What is the right play?

i think i'd lead low from dummy and finesse the 7 first

Finesse the 7 is by far the best start. Next you can finesse on the T when necessary.

Agree with low to 7 or run the J, catching Q or 10 with the K will bring down 2 tricks, so I beleive this play only falls when LHO has both Q10.

Low to the 7 is the winner.
If you lose to the 10 your cards are promoted so you have essentially this finesse position:
JT9
Kx
Probability of success: 70.3% (according to Suitplay)
Another strategies mentioned was running the Jack: If that loses to the Q you are left with this promoted position:
JTx
K9
This is essentially the same position so why is this not best? Answer: RHO can take the Jack with the Ace if it is right for him to do so, sabotaging some otherwise winning positions!
If you play small to the 7 you win only if West's Honor is the Q. If you lead the Jack you would be hoping that West's Honor is the 10 but if that is the case, East will take the ace, sabotaging your plan.

Yes, must agree, low to the 7 first, gives you the best chance for tricks.
