I opened 1♥ and P bid 2♦ over opponents 2♣ which is not gameforcing. I bid 2♠
and he bid 3♣ which asked for hold. I bid 3♦, 4♦ would be RKC Blackwood, and he bid
3♥. I choosed ♥ as trumph after his 3♥ and bid 4♠ as RKC Blackwood. My P thought
I shud bid 4♦ after his 3♣ but couldnt he have bid that after my 3♦ instead of bidding 3♥.
He must know that I must have at least 3 diamonds after showing 9 cards in the majors.

Yes Mike, 4♣ is a good bid but wasnt sure of slam and didnt want to go passed 3NT. My 2♠ was a bit useless since P would have made a negative X if he had 4

Hi,

with the given start,

1H - (2C) - 2D - ...

opener sees 5 diamonds with responder, i.e. if the majpr suit Aces are on board,
you are needing only 2C with partner to have 13 tricks.
Small slam is basically similar on, if p has the King of spades and the Ace of
hearts.

Hence you need to find out, if he has wastage in club.
A possible way to find is either 3C, in cace you still want to keep 3NT as option
or 4C.
The problem with 2S is, partner does not have 4 spades, he did not make a neg. X.
3C keeps the bidding low, it is a bit murky, the diamond fit is not yet shown, but
you always can correct this later, ... a delayed 4C should show a void, the direct
splinter may be a singleton.
