South's problem 2NT intending to cue bid the spade void if partner makes a weak pref. Sure, we will often end up in wrong minor. After making this choice, I peek and see that opposite this advancer we end up in a good club slam. I actually chose it without peaking!
North's problem: pass: WTP? I can't guess a possible missbid here.
Actually, my partner has seen my unusuals at this vulnerability, might end up in game. Still, a NV game swing for us!

Once upon a time a hand with 8 PTs started with a double. It is an agreement thing where the top end of an overcall comes. Old-fashioned pairs have an advantage on this hand but a disadvantage on others. Pay your money, take your choice.

Both hands had a really tough problem here. The north hand cannot really afford to double and have it come back in 4S, so its 2D or pass. The other hand has a real struggle about whether to float 2d or pass. I think in this situation I would have maybe tried 3D. Really hate it, but its much too dangerous to pass at IMPS after south has passed, there is a pretty strong indication that partner has a decent hand. 3D doesnt show too much, although my trumps are obv bad, but if he bids 3N I will be very happy with an extra heart stop. If he bids 3H I can bid 3N happily myself. So 2D p 3D still leaves overcaller with an awful problem. I mean, I might well have tried 5D now. You basically have no idea what to bid and no more space.
