Yes, I would have opened 1C. Maybe not if I were playing, and wished to continue playing, with Jimmy, However I do not anticipate this situation arising.

I would raise. who knows you might make 4♥ on a good day. You have defense against 4♠ so u might beat that.
You expect 3♠ to make so passing and redouble make no sense.

IMO you should have opened 1♣, Now, over 3♥, I rank
1. Pass = You have some defence.
2. 4♣ = Lead-directing.
3. 4♥ = Dangerous opposite a seat-3 pre-empt.
4. XX = Weird.

Your hand with 11hcp can be opened because you have one more trump than general 5cards. And then you would avoid the hard decision due to 1H responce of your partner.
Your best bid should be pass, obviously, because you didn't know how many hcp and points you had and the distribution. A good player should be conservative on bidding when he knows little of all the hand.

As they say best not to start from here [removed] so pas if you wish but if p has Seven tricks as promised you have 2/1/2 and defence will probably give you one so 4hts best, no point in bidding clubs

The primary benefit of the 4♣ bid is to warn partner of my side strength so we avoid the double game swing with strong club duplication when they compete to 4 ♠, also many single game swings with weaker duplication. Lead director is another way for 4♣ to win.

I've agreed with partner that bid of a new suit after the double of his preempt is for the lead, so my bid is four clubs, showing some heart support, and to lead clubs in case we don't win the contract.
