If East bid only 2S over 2H (having started with 2D) is there not a significant risk of West passing with that hand? Perhaps he would over a direct 2S. Maybe this is not an obvious hand at all. Maybe East should shoot straight to 3S over the double. Real "burning your boats" stuff. East is very strong opposite a Spade fit, but without that fit ...
