How about
1♣-1♠
2♣-2♦*
2♥-2NT
3♥-(yada yada yada)-6♥
?

full disclosure: I misplayed the hand pretty badly.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

There should be an option built in so that the player who first bids the strain becomes declarer.

N did become declarer but I played it because of the tournament format (robots never play the hand, the humans go and switch with them). Too bad, as the robots would not have messed up trick 1 like I did!

I dislike Gib N's opening style very very much, even though some players like it.
I think Gib N should open 1♥ with 5-card instead of 1♣ even with 6-card in this minimum hand since Gib N have not so strong strength enough to reverse bid twice in this hand, this opening style is illogic and unreasonable.
I strongly suggest that we need to confirm the rule of Gib opening - Major first in the minimum hand.

So I have to say that such a bad result is due to incorrect approach of opening even though Gib should rebid 2♥.

Yes, I would also prefer 1♥ instead of 1♣. But 1♣ then 2♣ is also OK from me, as long as he goes on to show his hearts when given the chance.

I know. I was joking. The option should be available in real life, too. When I have misbid a hand badly, Partner should be able to insist that I play it.
