BBO Master Points Question: What are BBO Master Points?

I see several tournaments are awarding "BBO Master Points." Just what are they? Are they the same as ACBL Master Points? What do they count towards? Are the points pigmented? Thanks!:huh:

BBO masterpoints are awarded by BBO--not affiliated with ACBL or any other organisation. You get them when you play in the pay tourneys. The scale for awarding is the same as that for ACBL masterpoints.

It counts towards getting those weird symbols beside some people's names.

A=the person who has won the most mps
K=the rest of the top 10
Q=the rest of the top 50
J=the rest of the top 100
10=over 1000 masterpoints
9=over 500 masterpoints
8=over 300 masterpoints
7=over 200 masterpoints
6=over 100 masterpoints
5=over 50 masterpoints
4=over 20 masterpoints
3=over 5 masterpoints
2=over 1 masterpoint
