Gib overcall unusual 2nt with strong 21TP.
Is it a reasonable bid?
If it is reasonable,Gib N should raise my 5 to 6 so as to show its feature of strong hand holding.
However Gib keep silence after I bid 5,I have to say that Gib's bids are inconsistent.

Agreed

Q1 is a style issue, on which I posted recently. I don't have a strong opinion, but agree that raising 5C to 6C is auto. Not finding 7C I forgive

Im not so sure. You may just be sacrificing with no defence and 3 or 4 small then 6 will have little play if you also have Jx . Even with A still not great. Its that you have 5 and 0-1 and 1-1 trump break which makes the hand.

Personally I think using 2N or Michaels bids on strong 2 type hands isn't best especially where you have extra length in one suit.

There is not perfect convention, but this hand shows that Gib need to improve its unusual 2nt convention.

And whatever logic is used for improvements here probably also applies to Michaels.

I would pass routinely on the North hand over one of my recent partner's 5C bids. Favourable, innit.
I prefer to give the lawmakers credit for stating things for a reason - barmar
