Nice simple problem, not sure if N/B or I/A unless I've missed some of the point, which appears to revolve mainly around a single card play.

This 4 cad ending is reached many ways, I corrected one of them, but seems you found another, lets hope there are not many left. Still ruffing low is not a silly play, so its ok.

I'm interested in which return you feel is actually correct in the 4 card ending at MPs.

very difficult, and depends on declarer as the club return shouldn't work on this lie out, but if for some reason declarer left partner's J alive it will. now I look how you played I am more interested on knowing why you took the lead away from me overtaking my 10, you were scared that I could do something stupid right? :P

Now serously, it is a complicated ending if you know partner plays low-high with 2 trumps it is a good bet he has Jack or 10, but if he might falsecard with 32 you are catching butterflies most likely, and difference between 50 and 100 is smaller than 50 and -110.

There are other funny endings if you try to cash A at trick 4. Later Declarer will overruff Q and then depending on which card you use to ruff declarer might be able to underruff dummy's 8 or not on some endings. Also I didn't realice that if defence tries a ruff&discard early (before cashing diamonds) the best move by declarer is to ruff in hand and let north overuff, this keeps a golden diamond in hand to access dummy and finesse. I noticed halfway through the programming, so it will cost kind of randomly depending how you play the early tricks. Analyzing all this endings with all possible plays I've found some counterintuitive plays that work better than standards, you would have to try some hands to understand what I mean, but it is really exhausting.

I though everyone would get -110 or +50, but first result was a -140 don't yet know how. And then you got +100 grrr

Declarer should never get this wrong, in the 4 card ending where I lead a club, I'm known from the auction and previous play to hold K, A the club and another card. If it's a trump, it's essential to play the J, if not it doesn't matter whether you play the J or a small one.

I stress my partners a lot, this is a case where I can simply remove any stress as I know for 100% certain that I want to cash the third club next, yes partner should work this out, but why make them ?
