Hate to rain on the parade here, but it seems that all these auctions would be the same if north held:

2
KQ9752
QT5
652

Slam is really very good opposite that hand. Perhaps I would get to the five-level via:

1 (16+) - 1NT (5+ semi-positive plus)
2 (GF relay) - 2 (high shortage)
2N (relay) - 3 (1633)
3 (relay) - 4 (4 AKQ points)
4 (relay) - 4 (one top heart, 0/2 top diamonds)
5

A level higher, but with more certainly that slam is poor. I could of course have signed off over 4 (kind of equivalent to what Straube and Free did) and missed the possible slam opposite the hand at the top of my post (as they would).

Z-T are a local expert pair that have played these deals. I thought using actual deals might help us to decide the question of whether an opponent might interfere or not.

There is always good old fashioned Standard, where on the posted hands, it would go
2C-2D
2S-3H
3N-4H
Pass

while with 2 of the top 3, North would give a positive response on the first round.

But the real surprise to me is that South is getting to make a 4th seat opening. Vulnerability and 2nd seat notwithstanding, I would wager at least 80% of the people I know are opening 2H as North.

In that case, I think 2H-2S,3C-4H is a reasonable auction (if partner has a club feature, he will not also have DA or DQ, and we've pinpointed the diamond lead for the defenders.)

The purpose of these deals is to compare strong club auctions. This particular pair doesn't use weak twos. Occasionally participants will not be able to start with a fourth seat club opening as their auction would be impossible, but I think most can simply imagine they are in first seat.

Meckwell-Lite:

1 (16) - 1 (0-7)
1 (4+; F1) - 2 (6+, 5-7)
3 (GF, setting ) - 4 (non serious cue)

Yes. But if your strong club auction underperforms old-fashioned standard methods, that's something to be aware of :P awm's comment reminded me of the fact that those pairs DO have a way to tell.

1S--2H (5S unbal 11-14 or 18-22, 5-10 nat NF + S shortness)
3H--3S (GF, -- 1keyc not super min)
3NT--4C (Qh?--no)

How did I get to be 4th seat?

(p)-2-(p)-4-AP

Partner will have at most a poor 9 count for his weak two in our light opening system, so slam seems far off especially with only an 8 card fit.

Pet two-way pass:

pass 1
2 3
4 pass

pass = 0-8 or 15+
1 = 0-8 or 15+
2 = natural, 5+ cards, 21+ (GF)
3 = 6 cards (with 5 only a waiting 2NT is better)

If pard had 6 hearts to the KQ, he might have opened a weak 2, so chances are no slam is in sight.

2(weak 2 in a major)-2NT(relay)
3(minimum)-3(ask)
3()-4

or, if treating south as first seat, then I'll have the same auction as IMPrecision(though the range is a bit different):

1(15+nat/bal,21+any)-1NT(5+ 3-7QP)
2(GF relay)-2(1 suited,high shortage)
2NT(relay)-3(1633)
3(relay)-3NT(3-4 QP)
4(relay)-4(4QP,1/3 top hearts, 0/2 top diamonds)

C3: Copious Canape Club

1 - 1 -
1 (4+ & 1 round force) - 2 (5+, 5-7 and 0-2) -
3 (Beta) - 3 (1-2 controls) -
4 ( cannot be semi-solid, otherwise respond 3 = transfer) all pass
Ultra Relay: see Daniel's web page: https://bridgewithda...19/07/Ultra.pdf
C3: Copious Canape Club is still my favorite system. (Ultra upgraded, PM for notes)

Santa Fe Precision published 8/19. TOP3 published 11/20. Magic experiment (Science Modernized) with Lenzo. 2020: Jan Eric Larsson's Cottontail . 2020. BFUN (Bridge For the UNbalanced) 2021: Weiss Simplified (Canape & Relay). 2022: Canary Modernized, 2023-4: KOK Canape.

Molybdenum Pass System:

2 - 2NT
3 - 4

Molybdenum treats weak 2s the same as more normal systems (2NT is ogust) so there's no difference currently.

If south is first seat:

P - 1
1 - 1NT
2 - 3
3NT - 4
P = Forcing
1 = Ask
1 = 19-21
1NT = GF
Rest of the calls are natural.
Become yourself.

Pretty sure I'm not getting out below the 5-level playing Polish after 1C-1H; 1S[18+ 5S or 15-17 4S-5C]-2H; 3H[usually Hx fit]-3N[frivolous]; 4C-4H; keycard-signoff, as awm's hand is still possible.

I would open the North hand 2 but assuming the dealer were really East or South:

1 = 15-17 nat/bal or 18+ any
... - 1 = most non-GF hands
2 = Acol 2
... - 3 = nat
3NT = nat

Am not desperately proud of this auction. :unsure:

Strangely it is easier for me to differentiate between this hand and Adam's after the mini-multi opening than the strong club, which just feels really wrong. Perhaps that means North needs to do more...
