Hx, HH(x...), when you see an endplay coming.

There are many cases, eg killing an entry to dummy eg
AJTxx
xx

You hold Kxx, play the K if the lead is to dummy

Almost all the same times that it is right to lead high.

Situations like the_hog's are sometimes hard to spot on opening lead, of course :)

Danger hand high! (play high when you have to win the trick NOW otherwise your entry will be useless)

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

To keep partner off an end-play...
To interfere with Declarer's attempt at an avoidance play...
To create a late entry in partner's hand (Say K from Kx)...
To block dummy's suit...
To limit the run of a long suit (AK109xx in dummy, 0/1 in declarer hand.... Declarer leads 10! You play J from Jxx or Jx but duck from Q/Jxxx).
To waste a dummy entry...
Be the partner you want to play with.
Trust demands integrity, balance and collaboration.
