It looks like version 4.0.7 (see earlier post in this Forum) is a winner - so far all feedback has been positive and there have been no bug reports.

Our plan is to release version 4.0.8 as an "autoupgrade" to the general BBO membership on Monday unless some problems are found over the weekend.

There is very little difference between 4.0.7 and 4.0.8, but we would REALLY appreciate it if as many Forums regulars as possible will try out 4.0.8 for us and let us know if they encounter problems. It is really a nightmare for us if we start the autoupgrade process and soon thereafter learn that we introduced some horrible new bug. This last minute plea for testers is an attempt to try to minimize the chances of that happening.

If you do encounter problems please send me e-mail (fred@bridgebase.com). In particular, if 4.0.8 crashes on you please let me know the exact error message that you see. Note that I am referring to crashes only - not disconnects. A disconnect is when you see a message like "your connection to BBO has been lost, please log in again". The message you see for a crash is much different (and generally much uglier).

Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to give 4.0.8 a try! By doing this you will not only help us out, but you will save yourself the hassle of having to go through the autoupgrade procedure (assuming 4.0.8 is the version that we actually release).

Instructions follow...

IMPORTANT!!! You must exit the BBO program COMPLETELY before you begin the update process!

You can upgrade your BBO to the latest version:

http://www.bridgebas.../bbo_update.exe

or download everything (including the latest files) from scratch:

http://www.bridgebas...8/bbo_setup.exe

I suggest you use the first method unless you have a good reason not to. Please note that your normal BBO settings will not be lost if you use the first method, but they will be lost if you use the second method.
