3N: All but me and he? I find 3N, nearly everyone else finds 5D?

It's also reasonable to play a (much rarer these days) style like Pavlicek recommended where 3♦ is forcing, and 2♠ followed by 3d is invitational. Surely it's best to play these sequences differently than have both be GF.

Agree hiding 5 cd hearts is just plain nutty even having massive system holes.
