MPs, NV vs V, dealer opens a weak two. Can you get to 6D? (Is West strong enough for leaping michaels?)

West certainly strong enough for leaping Michael's. To get the most out of conventions with low frequency you should stretch to bid them but even so this wouldn't be a close decision for me.

I think after that you won't stop short of 6D but who has discussed their followups in response to 4D?

Maybe not a lot of people but at least here 4 is easy no matter what partner thinks it means.

What it should be is a interesting question. I have a few ideas but I need to think it over to arrive at a sensible scheme.

Par on this hand (and most hands W would have for leaping michaels versus this E hand) would be 6 .

Not strong enough for leaping michaels for me, we play 4 forcing and huge.

Would start with 3 and pull 3N to 4 which shows just shy of a leaping michaels.

I agree that leaping michaels seems a bit overagressive. I think slam can be reached from 2S overcall, but requires if not some courage, some sophisticated cue bids ( and/or mixed raises)

For example:

(2H) - 2S - P - 4H - P - 6D (choice of slams)

is on its face a very reasonable auction. The biggest danger is that responder is reluctant to encourage slam without a stronger spade fit.
