What was the bidding?

Are you asking how South should play the hand single dummy or double dummy?

No bidding.
Double dummy.

Beautiful hard problem.
Thank you, zloty.
To begin with, the significance of the 8 and T aren't obvious.
Hit next to see a possible solution.
Edited to provide skeleton commentary.
:)

You seem to have to run on tram-lines.

Hi Nige1
Your distribution is different.

PS.How to insert diagram with animated option?

Thanks.

It's essentially the same. I think the solution is the same. Great problem!

Insert the diagram with the BBF hand-editor in the usual way. Then add...
  • Dealer e.g. &d=S
  • Auction e.g. &a=3SPPP
  • (Or you can insert the auction while creating the hand diagram)
  • Play (cards in chronological order, trick by trick) e.g. &p=CQCA.....
  • No spaces or newlines (except, optionally, before &).
  • Then, if you have GIB access, you can check, double-dummy, at each trick.

Thanks Nige 1,
I've followed your instruction and inserted as under diagram but don't obtain animation. Anyting surely missing on codage.Maybe at the end?

Reply to this and examine the contends of the hv tag. (This text is just comment). There were syntactic errors and a semantic error: I've altered the bidding to make South declarer so that the opening lead can be J. BTW, I think the play is more interesting when - LHO discards a high , not 7 and - LHO returns a honour, after winning a .

I see the coding finished by ]399]300] that I did not mention before. Is this the error?

The separators are vertical bars not brackets. This was part of your original hand diagram. (Its dimensions are 399 x 300).

Another great problem would be welcome :)

BTW google reveals this BBO thread from 2011

http://www.bridgebas...at-description/

In that thread, denwer, helpfully provides links to a description of handviewer and examples of its use. For instance

BridgeBase Online Help said:

List of all parameters:
a auction
b board number
c number of tricks claimed
d dealer
e East hand
en East's name
k kibitz
lin Contents of actual .lin file to display
linurl URL of external .lin file in XML wrapper myhand Identifier of deal stored in myhands
n North
nn North's name
p play sequence
s South
sn South's name
v vulnerability
w West
wn West's name
{Comments in curly brackets}
Much of this is news to me but I'll add a few comments to my first post in this thread to illustrate their use.
