Form of scoring might be relevant here. At matchpoints, maybe also depending on my score so far, I could see rolling the dice with a 5♦ call. At IMPs, I don't think it's worth the risk of turning -450 into -800.

Personally I think 5D is always right. Partner knew the vul when bidding 3D.
