This is a low-level errors，I just can't believe that GIB East dare to correct 2♠ into 3♣ with a bad 5 card suit,does GIB think that unsure 3♣ as a final contract is better than 2♠ with 6-1 fit?

Are you suggesting East should pass 2♠ and give up the chance of game with his 16HCP opposite 8-12 total points? I'd bid 2NT over 2♠, which I hope shows stoppers in both red suits, game invitational values, and the inability to bid 1NT over the takeout double, which I think would have shown 18-19HCP.
