I think it depends on each person's learning style. For me quizzes, bid/play apps, and "learn by doing" has always worked much better than reading, but I have friends who learn better by reading.
Welcome to the BBO forums, Ben.
I have no experience with bridge apps. However, there are a number of commercial CD's that teach bridge issues that are very good, I could discuss those with you if you like, or you can read about some of them in the bridge material review forum. Then there is online content. BBO has a bunch of free bridge movies at this link (
BBO Movies) . The quality of the material varies a bit, but a lot of them are very good. Another great resource is the Deal of the week archive you can find at
bridgebase deal of the week. And of course, there are a lot of places on line that are nice, I am fond of our user "
fluffy's website, his practice hands are good, I don't know about his courses.
And of course, when you are logged into the bbo gaming site, try the free bridge masters hands from the main menu.
There is no doubt that interactive lessons are a very strong way to learn to improve your game.... especially if combined with good advice.
