Hand 1.
So, 3N by West should make. 4S by East should go one down. 4C by South should go 4 down.
The interesting point about the hand is E/W decision to bid a speculative game rather than a certain penalty. We are not told the type of scoring, but 3 down would have been enough even at MP.
At one point 4S was making, when South rose with the Club King, but it requires some card reading which East was not up to.

Hand 2
GIB might expect you to overcall 2N on first round with South. From recollection I do not believe it places an upper limit on UNT. Perhaps it should. Perhaps my recollection is wrong anyway.
South has one fewer total points than indicated by 3D. (We do not count both honour points and shortage points in the Jackleton Spade). That does not seem significant.
South has two fewer HCP than indicated by the 4D (if you count the Jackleton, otherwise 3 fewer).

Perhaps these hands just serve to illustrate the odd outcomes that can result from GIB placing absolute trust that its opponents are bidding down the middle GIBberish. For me, it is more important to concentrate on hands where the human does bid according to GIB system and despite which GIB then goes off the rails.

4C was partly kidding, and partly sacrifice.
For I do doubt robot could understand 1C-2NT overbidding, and how it goes further, so I quit. I was trying to rebid diamond to give my pard robot an identical figure of my hand....

When South underleads spades for the second time (trick 4), Declarer is home free. He can lead to ♠A, then back to ♥A, cash ♠K, and run diamonds for 4 spades, 1 heart and 5 diamonds = 10 tricks. You interpret GIB's action as failure to read cards; I interpret it as being greedy for matchpoints instead of being happy that South had handed him the trump suit on a silver platter. po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to. The double dummy analysis shows that there is no (double dummy) defence once South rises with C:K at trick 3. Whether what then follows is reasonable at single dummy, well hence the card reading caveat.

Another instance showing robot would rather pursue more tricks than positive scores. Haven't they been set priorities among these factors？
