MP, best hand South.

Not really much of a bug report. Certainly not a serious one. More a bit of whimsical interest.

I would prefer that West bid 2N instead of 3♣

But 3♣ was effective in influencing me into thinking I would not need a ♣ ruff for 10. The risk of adverse ♥ ruffs and/or ♦ force combined with bad trump break led me to draw trumps prematurely.

What surprised me about this hand is that 4♠ has play. It seemed to me (as South) that North cannot have a game try once South has denied one. That logic miay not be valid if for some reason the 3♣ bid causes North to upgrade his hand so that now it seems to be worth more than his original 2♠. But if anything, sitting North I would quietly rip up my ♣Qx after the 3♣ bid and if anything the hand degrades.

Perhaps the lesson to be learned is that I as South should either be making a game try over 2♠ or should accept the game try made by North. Certainly I like my hand after 3♥ from partner, but it was MP and however good his 3♥ bid is I still placed him within the limit of a 2♠ raise.
