I think a double here would tend to deny 4 hearts and I don't really want to defend but I don't want to commit to the 5 level (yet) either. What's the scoring, MPs or IMPs? At MPs, I think I go with double anyway, the possibility of getting at least 500 when we have a game is too big with a diamond singleton and A. At IMPs, I might still double but will at least consider 4NT which should show this hand (4h/6c max with offensive values).

I assume you were playing some club system in which case you could have held a lot worse than this collection. We expect to make 5H (maybe 6) and are not going to kill 4S IMHO. Partner has made a neg dble facing a limited hand and will have a decent 9 count minimum, maybe even 5H with minimum values holding the A of C (should he happen to have been a wee bit aggressive, with x Qxxxx Jxxx Axx) we may not beat 4S and make 5H. How do you proceed with 6/4 minors, 4N seems best in that case, here I am bidding 5H because I expect to have a play. Even if double is take out it runs the risk of partner passing when we are all offense.

5s.

To make 6 we need the diamond onside and that they dont have a heart ruff.

Can I choose ?
1% of the time they make 4 and then I prefer 5.
The rest of the time I'll take the money.
