Here are a couple of bids by my Robot partner I don't understand:
1. # 9709 MP--Board 5--Robots rarely acknowledge penalty bids.
On this hand, the opponentss bid 6 Hearts and I doubled. Partner
went to six spades and we go down for a poor board.
2. # 5232 MP--Board 5--Why didn't partner open his hearts? We ended
up with a poor club contract.

#5232 - #5
Opening 2M has currently some restrictions and cannot open with similar hand. For opening 3M in V vs NV is also not possible.
It would be addressed for review anyway.
Bidding 2♥ instead of 2♦ is a problem which will be fixed in next v29.
#9709 - #5
Book and most common bid is pass, though, but after simulation unexpressed hand by North, singleton in opps' suit and super support probably made it bid more.
4♠ shows more then AQ for GIB at the moment, so it doesn't expect trump trick for opps.
Despite "error", it's still looks like 75% slam, so not so bad effort anyway.
Just being 25% lucky, instead of 75.

Pass is not good for sure.
But for 2M currently there is a restriction with just 6 cards.
Hand is too strong for 3M, and unfortunately there is a gap which bothers to open 1M due 1st position.
That will be addressed for review as it obviously it hardly find place after once it's passed. Even bidding 2♥ later wouldn't make partner comfortable it shows what has.
About 4♠, explanation is common as captures many cases, but the quality script partner expects for self-approved suit here is if 6+ ( 4/5 honors or at least AKQ ) , if 7th little lighter. Note the vulnerability also. You will hardly be expected to make sacrifice in VvsNV.

I'm still not happy about the description of 4♠ not fitting GIB's actual expectations, but...
the description of South's spade holding and his overall strength does not change between his 4♠ bid and his double of 6♥; it cannot be right for North to both pass 4♠ (choosing to play game and not investigate slam) and to later bid 6♠.
