The bidding goes like this
LHO Partner RHO You
1 1 P 2D*
D 3C P ?

2D showed fit (3+ cards) and 10+ hcp , we dont have other bids to show different kind of suppoprt.
Double by LHO was natural.

3H should vote as 3D since it is ment as a Game trail, although i wouldnt try it since im afraid partner might think it show heart suit which was too good for imidiate 2H.(but again for this poll choose 3D if you mean to make another game trail)

Well, what I meant is at table I would go to the "tank". Maybe I could emerge with a clever bid ;)

I bid 4s.

This is a less than minimum hand and a game depends on 2-2 trumph break.
Long suit trials are very usefull bids....

Call me an eternal optimist, but if I'm going to bid game, shouldn't I bid 4? Partner could have AQxxx x Axx KQxx. No, he won't bid on over 4 if that is all I bid.

Tim

PS I do have something more than I promised with my 2 bid: a 4th trump. I think that is enough to accept the game try.

I vote for 4.

Though the K doesn't look good, K, A and 4th are gold. And I have only 2 losers anyway. Besides, if pd has Kx, it is very likely to win a trick.

4S. Why on earth should I make a counter trial for heaven's sake? I have 4 card support and the Ace of partner's trial suit bid. I would certainly bid 4C, as suggested by Tim, if I were a passed hand.

you want to bid a game if partner's hand is: SAQJxx Hxx DAx CKxxx, you want to avoid a game, if his hand is SAQJxx HAx Dxx CKxxx, so why don't you just bid 3D to ask for help in D? hehehe. When votes of 3S and 4S are almost half half, that usually means you should give a reverse game try.

Do you also avoid a game if partner's hand is SAQxxx HAx Dxx CKJxx?
I don't. Bid 4s.
btw Are you sure that your partner will understand to your 3d?

I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

at imps i might just bash 4 at this point unless we had discussed rebids after hsgt.

at matchpoints, 3 would be nice if it had been agreed to be help asking as opposed to control showing. (why do I have this feeling that the hand belongs in 3NT?). At matchpoints, my approach is, when in doubt, if you don't have the tools to find out, then play for the plus score.
