card symbols used in chat

Where do they come from? How do I set them up? I'd like them to be handy for "chat".

From the main BBO page, click on "Help" along the top.
From the drop-down menu, select "BBO Help".
Click on "Click here to open our help system in a new browser window."
From the list of many topics, choose "Common on-line abbreviations and symbols in Chat". (It's near the bottom of the list.)

exclamation point followed immediately by:
S = ♠
H = ♥
D = ♦
C = ♣

That is !H is chat gives you a ♥, and !S = ♠ (no space between the Exclamation point and the letter)

Seriously, though, it's possible; but they really are abominations and should never be used.

On the other hand, I think the same of Gerber; so take my advice as you will.

You could create a new account, and create a thread with 10 copies of LOL, LOL, LOL, that same person will upvote the 10 copies, but only because she is not allowed to vote each more than once.
