MP, robot tourney, best hand South
I was in good company going 5 down for 30.9%. If only I had had the nous to set up a Spade trick for 4 down (as several others did) it would have been worth 67.7%.
But as ever, the bidding's the thing.
East makes a borderline psych, having just 4-4 in suits in which he is showing 5-5.
Then West fields it. With an announced 11 card + 8 card fit, a singleton, and what is likely to be a well placed ♦K, he settles for a meagre 2H. Heck, he makes 4H even opposite the 4-4 hand that East holds.
Not to be outdone, North, who previously denied any game interest, now decides that his hand is worth a game try. Not only that but he shows not a "partial stop in H"; not a "likely stop in H". Oh no, North has "a stop in H". Those Jackletons really pull their weight. Oh, well, makes a change from showing Qx as a guard opposite a singleton. Oh, wait a minute.
