Roaring!!!
Agreed.
South's pass was inspired also. I wonder how he could possibly have known.

There's been worse before... passing 2NT with 12 counts or not responding to a 1D opener with a 17 count. Still bizarre though.

There are so many of these threads, and I think that people need to realise that bidding with a robot is not a partnership activity; what you need to do is bid around the robot, giving it as little influence on the final contract as you can.

It is not clear whether this is a valid bridge skill, but it is certainly a skill one must learn when playing with robots.

What, you've never been passed in a splinter or a cuebid? I've been on the receiving end of 1H-4C-p, 1S-4H (SPL)-p, and most recently partner passing me in an unassuming cue bid. On two of these occasions a grand slam was cold.

I notice that this was not played in a Robot tourney, which raises the question which version of the Robot was it? In a sense it is more damning if it was a basic bot, because they don't have the excuse of coming up with some unfortunate sims on which to base their action; entirely rule based.

Sure but in my view forgetting an agreement or having a brain fart is not as bad as horrendous judgment.

It was the robots using to replace slower players in the express free automated fun tourneys. I thought those were the advanced robots but I guess I don't really know for sure.

Robot did this once:

Not the worst pass ever, but the worst 2 in the same deal by the same bot :)
(also, the 4 bid was pretty awful (AKxxxx - KQx xxxx) but that's not the point of this discussion)

East hand should be a straight double of spades without hearts- if its not then that's another flawed bid by GIB but the flawed initial pass by West is bad- either 3 or 4 hearts pre-empt.

The bots are the same advanced bots as are used in robot tournaments.

Maybe West assumed, for the purpose of the simulations, that S would have raised with a 10-card fit?
