AQJ
AJT
AKxxxx

LHO pard RHO you
1....pass..1..pass*
1NT..pass..2...??

*You'd have liked to bid 2 here, but that would be a defensive diam/spade two-suiter :)

RHO showed a sign-off hand with 5 diams and 4 hearts. You can now bid a natural 3. Do you butt-in or pass?

pass.

Pard is likely to have at best something like

KT9xxx- xxx- Kxx-x

and even then 3NT will be a gamble because it is likely no Ax of spades will drop, and than QJxx of clubs are offside.

Misfit hand.

Your p can hardly have any HCP, and he will have a lot of , dbl and try to beat them at least once.

This is a trap auction.

LHO shouldn't have 4 spades, doesn't have 4 hearts and probably doesn't have 4 diamonds. Most likely patterns are: 3-3-3-4 or 3-3-2-5, 3-2-3-5.

I would have bid 2 (if available) the 1st time. Now I need to pass.

Pass. Partner bids 2 and makes it.

Dbl of course. Penalty oriented, -180 is cheap and I think I can get some nice number in this hand.
This dbl shows short spades since I can bid 2s with 3 or 4 spades offering pd a choice between 2s and 3c.
