4♠ - 4 spades, 18-20 points balanced or semi-balanced (no singletons/voids)

+1 To Endymion, with just one more thing:
I am unlucky enough to play with people who think that 1 minor 1♠ 3 ♥ shows 6+ in the minor and 5 hearts. Okay, if I will have this hand, I will like to have this tool, but...
I guess for the rest the consensus is close to 100 %.

Happy to say I play none of these as written other than the one with the question mark, but I agree they're fairly standard. Some play 4♦ 4252.

Yeah I never understood that, what's wrong with 2♥ on such a hand? If it's "too bad to reverse", then leaping to 3♥ can't be right.
I mean let's say that you are 56 and minimum, what hand will partner hold where opening 1♥ and rebidding 2♦ fails you? I'm sure you can create one, but it will take some work. Whereas it's pretty easy to think of hands where "jump reversing" leaves the last making contract in the dust.

The question was "What is standard?" I guess that the below would be standard for experienced players without deeper discussion, but not for the weaker group who, for instance, jump to 3NT with a 2NT rebid or jump shift when they could reverse.

Our 3NT is a bit more specific, guaranteeing a stiff spade and a prime stop in each rounded suit.

Our 4C & 4D are both the 4-6 type --4C=serious, 4D=non-serious (undisclosed short suit, but the serious variant will have controls outside)
