1 - 2
2 - 2N
4N - 6N

LHO leads the spade 4. Try to cover the most likely contingencies for the 1st several tricks.

I think I'll start with small to T, followed by A (not covered ofcourse), low to the A and create my s. I suspect I'll manage to get 4 tricks (losing 1 already), 3s, 1 and 3s, so this brings me 1 trick short which I'll try to get using a squeeze. I'll try to reach following end position:

I should be able to count the hands after I play K, and I can still finesse if LHO was squeezed in the minors with a honour.

Not really... if west has both club honors and four diamonds (or if EAST has both club honors and the diamonds) it is a simple squeeze. If West had just one club honor, the hook is of course not gonig to help you as WEST will win his stiff honor while his partner still high high-small...

The squeeze line fall back in case diamonds are 4-2 is good. You might sweeten a little with an unblock of the diamond ten in case EAST has Jx or 9x or better yet, stiff nine or jack.

Frederick:

After Spade, heart to 10, A, how are you getting back to dummy?

It matters.

i am sure he saw my unblock diamond Ten to the King... on first round... so there you go... he knows the answer to that simple question now. :-)

First go to dummy with to create the s, 2nd time go with T to the A so you unblock your in case you might consider a finesse in later on (unlikely, but you never know). I think my end position makes it quite clear, and I'm at trick in South (took Q to play my last if opps didn't play it yet.

I think here you may need to transer the threat. If east starts with 4diamonds and CKJ, then no matter. But if west start with 4 diamonds and CJ, if there is a reason to believe CK is in east then you can force him to cover the CQ and then play position sqz against west.

So win spade in dummy, lead H to T, if it lost. Win the spade return in dummy again. play CQ, forcing east to cover, go to dummy with DA, unblocking the DT, as ben said, cashing H, return to hand with DQ, cashing SK. West is sqeezed.

If west duck the HT, cashing HA. Go to dummy with SA, forcing out HK. Continue the same line as above.

After your opponent wins the K, a 3rd spade is played. What are you discarding?

This is certainly not 100%. However i think it is better than other line, due to entry and communication problem you can only sqz west if there is one.

Well, this is kind of a neat hand. At the table, LHO (like I said he was weak) won the K and continued spades. Now hearts pitching clubs and the K, squeezing LHO out of the 4th diamond or the K, or squeezing RHO if he had KJ and the 4 diamonds.

None of these chances materialized. But its a reasonable slam I think.

What I was curious about is can I combine all my chance (trying to drop Jx) as well as the squeeze. I don't think I can.

By the way; theres no point to transferring any menaces here or fancy unblocks in the club suit. There is no guard squeeze; there is only two suits to look after, not three.
