I would have upgraded the Sth hand to open 1NT. You have a decent 5 card suit.

Our 1NT opening (other than nonvul 1st & 2nd seats, which is 10-12) is a good 14 to 17. I would have opened this one 1NT if I were playing a 15-17 1NT. As it was, I didn't even have to "upgrade" it.

3NT certainly had play. But I didn't find a winning line.
