Hello,
I noticed on Sunday that the tournaments results have "Ranks" A, B, C and everyone has an A rank, some people have B and fewer have C. This seems to increase masterpoints. I saw on the Masterpoint pages tournaments are stratified A, B, C placing players in different teirs based on the number of points they have but this doesn't appear to be what's occuring. I am certainly one of the players with the fewest Masterpoints but I'm not in the C teir and like I said A is everyone. I've tried to search around to see what the criteria is but have had little luck.
Does anyone know how the robot MP and IMP works with stratas/Ranks and who is in B and C strata?

I think it's the same way that we've been stratifying the all-human tournaments for years: All the entrants are sorted by their masterpoints. The top third are strat A, the next third are B, and the rest are C.

From http://www.bridgebas...ournaments.html
We haven't yet enabled overall awards in the robot games, but otherwise it should be the same (Uday, correct me if I'm wrong).

All ACBL pairs games on BBO are stratified into three Stratas, A, B and C. The Stratas are determined by the number of BBO and ACBL points held by players in each game. This means the Stratas are fluid and can change from game to game. The points held by the players in the given game are gathered and divided into the three Stratas, with Strata A being those players holding the most BBO and ACBL points, Strata B the next third highest and Strata C the players with the fewest points of the group.
The three groups of players in each Strata are now distributed among the sections as close to equal as we can manage and the game begins. This stratification allows us to award points to the players in each Strata for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., and for Overall awards. Of course, a player placing in the overalls and in his section will be awarded the highest award for overall or section placement, not both.

I'm definitely confused. I was below 1 total Masterpoints (less than anyone else in the tournament) I came in 7th in section 1 and got 0.13 points (ranked only in A), 8th place (Rank in A and B) and 9th (Ranked in A, B and C) got 0.22 points each.

That does look like a bug, several players in that tourney seem to be in the wrong strat. We're looking into it.

Not a bug.
Do you have an ACBL number? Enter it when you register, and we'll KNOW how many ACBL masterpoints you have.
If you don't, we make a guesstimate at your points based on a number of factors. For instance, stars are forced into Strata A.

I have my ACBL number entered but I just registered a couple weeks ago with the ACBL, I'm a brand new member. My ACBL points are 0 until they get the BBO update.

Welcome to the ACBL and to the Forums!
The stratification of the robot games is something entirely new. I haven't even seen it yet, as I haven't played in a robot game since last week.
Let's see how it all shakes out. If there is one thing that is sure, it is that stratification can only help you and not hurt you.
