ive edited the bidding... Est did bid 2D
IMPs vs "B" players.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

IMO Pass = 10, 4 = 5, 4 = 4.

Yes, and your question is?
"The King of Hearts a broadsword bears, the Queen of Hearts a rose." W. H. Auden.

Sounds like 10 tricks. Winning partner's big cards: opened AND rebid 1Nt.
Plus dummy reversal (C-ruffs by Yarb) or crossruff.
I'm trying 4H. My guess is -200 is most likely; BUT +790 is not a rarity.

i am lost (not an uncommon problem sigh) why did we choose
2s vs x to show both majors (over 2d)?? while it may show only
44 it hints at some game interest so its either power or distribution
with distibution the most likely (since we can compete at lower
levels with that).

ok here we are we got lucky and p likes spades and despite having
a strong hand and suspecting we are not broke did not want to x
3c---thats a good thing since we are void. Are we good enough
to consider game>> I think yes

P probably has only 2 diamonds and not a lot of club wastage (no x 3c)
so I am picturing their hand as similar to HHxx HHx(x) Hx xxx(xx)
any combinataion of power that adds up to around 18 should give us
a fair chance at 4s and we are vul at imps right????

I didnt double 2D because we dont play those as 100% takeout, note that partner cannot be 4423 since he would double with those hands rather than bidding 1nt, so despite opps bidding hes got 3D.

I would have bid 3D on the previous round and then passed 3M.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
