1NT =12-14 2D natural

Perhaps you might not be very happy with your partner's 2NT bid and wondering exactly what he had. Nevertheless you have to decide whether to pass or bid 3♦

Why are we bidding 2D vul vs not? -.- To be honest I'm not sure what's best here. 2NT is normally natural, denying a diamond fit and showing something like 11-13. I guess maybe our best chances are to bid 3D, maybe partner has a doubleton and we can scramble some tricks.

Definitely 3♦ not pass. There will be hands that make exactly eight tricks in both denominations but surely they are well against the odds.

3♦. Partner should have some diamond support, cant imagine he can bid 2N with a stiff.

3D.

I assume X would be penalyt, 15+, i.e. 2NT is limited to at most 14HCP.
Even with 14HCP partner will give us some leeway, afterall we were in the passout.

I would guess 3D offers the best shot at going plus, the alternative may well be 3NT.

Just saw, we play IMPs, ..., this makes 3NT more tempting.
